School Council

The Sullivan Centre has an active and thriving School Council,.

The Sullivan Centre School Council plays a vital role in fostering student engagement and leadership within the school community. Meeting every week, this dedicated group of students comes together to discuss and address various issues affecting their peers and the school environment. The council provides a platform for students to voice their opinions, share ideas, and contribute to decision-making processes that impact school life.

During these meetings, members collaborate on initiatives aimed at enhancing the school’s atmosphere, such as organising events, improving facilities, or implementing new programs. The council also serves as a liaison between students and staff, ensuring that students’ perspectives are heard and considered in school policies and practices. Through their involvement, students develop valuable skills in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, while also gaining a sense of responsibility and ownership over their school community. The weekly meetings of The Sullivan Centre School Council are integral to creating a responsive and inclusive school environment where student contributions are both valued and impactful.

Our Sullivan Ambassadors who are elected each Term attend the school council.

The school council also attend Youth Parliament held at The Guild Hall in Hull to hear other school’s views and debate on much larger issues and context.
